HB 3182, the bill to legalize and regulate poker in Texas died.
The Poker Bill was placed on the legislature's general calendar for a vote for May 9. Because of the way the legislature's voting process works, if it does not get reached for vote by midnight, it does not get heard at all. Thus, it failed by never having a chance to be heard.
Was it buried at the end of the calendar as a political move to defeat the bill? Probably.
